Oh I shouldn't have

A little character sketch for another of the Druid masters..this one based on my long suffering friend Nathan. Sorry Nate but it had to happen eventually. I'm thinking the hair is unnnaturally purple and the pants are furry. I love the eerie look of the black eyes and no eyebrows. Of course Nathan has eyebrows but in my world he shaves them off and makes Oisin uncomfortable as he keeps cocking his head to one side and staring at him like he can see something. this is just a back ground character as there is a group of Druids that watch Oisin get tested (and molested). Maybe if I continue the series I'll bring him back.

Odds are ending

A few more images. I like the fists to the ground stance for Byron's change. I'm also working on some more Druids. Here is a wild man of the forest type....does he look familiar to anyone? Watch out Nathan you're next.

Wolfiness

This is the first transition into wolf we get to see. I drew a silly half man half wolf just for fun....that's not how it will look. The way I picture it Byron is man AND wolf all the time and the only change that takes place is our perception of him. I am wondering about the nature of the moon and why it effects them. does it bring other powers or perceptions?

The man Gil Kane

Some fine fine drawing of hot man flesh by a master. GK had a pure vision and would draw what real muscled and lean men actually looked like and not an ideal image. Sometimes the butts looked wrong until I did a little ..uh, research, and then I saw that he was right. I remember tracing that image of Acroyear when I was 12 and giving him some extra anatomy. Micronauts #38 and "I'm trapped at six inches" lol is from Sword of the Atom #1

I'm not crazy you're crazy

Sketches from Chapter two scene two where Byron has his first melt down. Oisin finds him moody and depressed which quickly turns into a classic "I hate you! Don't leave me!" tirade. I would be lying if I said I missed those days.

This explains a lot

Since I've been laid off I have lots of time to go through my comics and get rid of stuff. I was hoping I would find some of the old books that ..uh, "inspired" me back when I was a kid. Here is a page from Micronauts #2 1978. I've always loved Michael Golden's work. There is a lot of bondage and heroes is trouble. I used to trace the figures leaving off the costumes...hours of fun.
